Really liked how it picture a futuristic world and the change into human values. Easy to read, it cling to you after and makes you think. I think it did really well what it was suppose to do. The only thing I missed to give it a 5 was to really feel involved in the story. But I still think it did really well what it was suppose to do.

Boring happiness or the freedom to be unhappy? Great book that raises important philosophical questions. Far ahead of its time.

Let me start by saying I love dystopian, futuristic, or sci-fi books. I’m also purposely trying to read some “classics” and this fulfills both of those requirements. However, I found this book to be truly awful. Even after overlooking the racial insensitivity since it was written in the 1930s, this book really had very few redeeming qualities. The only element that kept it from being a one star rating was that there are some nice philosophical dialogues in places that got my attention. Otherwise, it was an enormous disappointment. There are just so many better sci-if novels written since this book that it ended up being a huge waste of time. I will actively steer people clear of this book.
