Oh, this was really good! Not sure why I'm surprised, but I am. Such good character development, and the love story was about appreciating life, loving nature, loving yourself, and being open to possibilities. It had heroes and villains, and sometimes you weren't sure which was which. It started a little sad but turned into a fun read and a book that I will enjoy for a long time.

This was so satisfying. The Stirling family is hilariously described. Valancy is poignant and believable in her heartache at being an old maid of 29. Lucy Maud Montgomery's nature descriptions of nature were, as expected, lyrical and uplifting. The love story had many twists, turns and mysteries that just felt like excellent fan service. I laughed out loud and cheered audibly for Valancy at certain révélations. Reader Bryn Roberts did all the voices wonderfully. And the ending was just romantic just so. What a nice little treasure, I'm so glad I waited till I was 30 myself to read it because it made it all the more significant and full of feelings.
