Really 2 stars but I liked the tension and spice

The tension and angst between the two main characters is good but this book didn’t really add anything to the plot until the last chapter. The whole main plot point that the book was leading up to for like 80% they didn’t even go through with and changed what the whole book was leading up to. Only the last chapter had anything to really do with the first book - but it was a good chapter so I will continue with the third book.

Edit: I’m never gonna read the third book. Haven’t thought of the series since and I don’t care for what happens I hate them

It took me awhile to get into this book more than the first. Honestly to me it seemed like more inner monologue and her traveling to Hell for the longest time lol. I didn’t really get into it until she’s started visiting the different circles trying to uncover the truth. I hope the next one doesn’t seem so…blah til like halfway through

This is definitely a book of riddle esk conversations, the more they talk the more I wanted to know. And in all honestly it keeps me going, hard to tear away from it at any point.

oooh... I'm not too happy about this.
Honestly, I'm such a big fan of Kerri's books, Kingdom of the Wicked was my nr1 read the year it was released and I was SO looking forward to this that maybe, just maybe, it is what let me down a bit.

It was way too much about relationships, too little mysterious stuff, witchcraft and anything else I loved about the first book.

I really hope this was just a "second book" thing and that the third book will blow me away again.
