Oh my goodness, I really, really liked this book.
I'm glad I put my day off to good use and read this beauty!
Ice Cold Rival is a college hockey romance.
We have Kenzie who has recently -as in minutes ago- caught her boyfriend cheating.
She runs into, literally, Reece, who is a senior hockey player with a "no repeats" rule.
Feeling reckless and furious after catching her boyfriend in the act, Kenzie takes Reece by the hand and leads him upstairs. When I tell you that sparks fly, I ain't playin'.
Kenzie comes....to her senses and high tails it out of there.
Well you know what happens next...they meet again when neither expects it...but they haven't stopped thinking about that night.
Long story short, our sweet couple come to an understanding to their mutual benefit.
What I really loved about this story is the fact that they talk to each other. There are no misunderstandings or assumptions. They may wonder what the other is thinking but it never lasts long because they ask the questions. I love how they are there for each other. I love the found family feeling we get from Reece's roommates and friends. They are quick to accept Kenzie for who she is. And don't let me get started on the ducks!
Nikki Hall, you wrote a winner that makes me determined to go back and read the first two! I cannot wait for Mase's story!
Thank you so much for the ARC...I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

ONS
Fake Dating

Reece is a fan of ONS and never getting attached, but knows he needs to show he’s serious in all facets of his life for his coach to consider him captain material.
Kenzie is a people pleaser and recently out of a long term relationship, where she caught him cheating. But running into Reece one night at a party opens up a new chance for her to do something for herself for once — with her ex bf’s new teammate.

These characters are easy to love, and there is some decent character growth in this fast paced novel. Some side character redemption arc, and appearances from our favorite ducks of course!

Nikki’s books are creatures of comfort. Easily devoured, some good laughs, maybe a cry or two, and leaves you with a heart full and already invested in the next book in the series.
