I just love Gary Paulsen's writing. This was a great book!
For anyone wondering if it's acceptable for their class or young children, it does not go into any graphic detail of the hunts or too much into the illness Leif's people encounter. However, there are 2 uses of the word "damn" & the Author's Note says "chickenshit".
It's a wonderful story of adventure, and I love how Paulsen finds beauty in everything. This makes me want to go canoeing but somewhere warm instead!
