I enjoyed this book. Cute and fluffy with some turbulent back story you can see hinted at from the very beginning. Not a deep read, but a fun one.
This was gym reading for me, aka free or cheap on the Kindle. I have very low expectations for the books I acquire this way. A lot of times I don't make it past the first few chapters they're so bad. This one was an exception. I didn't LOVE it, but I did very much enjoy it for what it was. The guy best friend was a giant ass. From the beginning pretty much. I appreciated that the main character was a virgin NOT for religious reason. Even if I didn't really understand her reasoning so much, I could at least appreciate it. This wasn't bad. It was a nice, light, fun read for grinding through the miles on the treadmill and elliptical.
I want to thank the author for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review.
I wanted to read this book after seeing that it was about a relationship between a college student and an actor. I really loved the relationship in Tina Reber's Love series, and i wanted to see if the same thing would happen here, and how it would work. In the Love series, Taryn was already established, and had had a few serious relationships. In this story, the main character Chloe is trying to establish herself, and get into a career. I was very happy to see that even though the two stories' plots seemed a bit similar on the outside what with the same kind of main relationship, they really weren't. This story wasn't just about the romance, it was also about Chloe's past, and her coming to terms with some things. I liked that a lot.
The story took a while to pull me in. We met all of the main characters pretty quickly, but sometimes, some of the actions and dialog felt a little forced to me. However, that soon faded. I began to like Jason, as he was a really sweet and honest guy. None of the usual bad boy attitude was going on here. I loved that he was honest with Chloe about everything that went on in his life.
Speaking of Chloe, I liked her a lot. She had a very interesting background, and was definitely a strong character. I liked that she wasn't jealous of everyone, and when she was insecure about something and thought that Jason was going to leave her, the story was told in such a way as to have me thinking those things right along with her. I call that seriously good storytelling. I began to get wrapped up in what was going on when we started learning about what happened to her in the past, and when that past came back to haunt her in the present.
In conclusion, I liked this book. It was different than I was expecting, and that's always a good thing. I loved that I didn't know what was going to happen when Chloe thought Jason was going to leave. I couldn't put the book down then. I don't know that I can say that Jason and Chloe are one of my favorite couples, but there is still the second book to get through, and who knows what will happen then.

I received this book free of charge from Netgalley with no compensation in exchange for an honest review.
I had requested this book on a lark. I thought that it was going to be a cute piece of fluff to while away the time. Well, I was completely wrong on that account! It was much more then I could have imagined.
I fell absolutely in love with this book from the first chapter. The author, E.M. Tippetts, does an excellent job of creating lifelike characters. I loved snarky "older by 3 minutes" sister Jen. The repartee between Jen & Jason was great. It sort of sounded like me & my sister Brenda when we get on a roll. We just through the little barbs back and forth for the fun of it.
Chloe is a really deep character. Her dark past has her fearing that she will never get the fairytale ending that she wants. So much so, that she has even stopped fantasizing of what that fairytale life could ever be like. That is until Jason shows up in her life.
There was a point while reading that I wasn't sure if I wanted her to end up with Jason or Matthew. I really liked them both. I am glad she ended up with who she did.
Now to get my hands on the 2nd book in this series. Plus she has 3 other stand alone books that I will look into getting.
This is definitely an author that will be on my list of must reads.

Someone Else's Fairytale took me quite a while to finish, 20 days to be precise. It didn't take that long because I wan't enjoying, it's because I got Red Queen and couldn't stop myself from diving right in!
Basically, Chloe is your average American student who's been seriously injured as a child after her brother attempted to murder her, you know, just average stuff. Then there's Jason, the hot movie star from the same town. Obviously he falls for her immediately and she turns him down because she's not about that life. No problems with that, she doesn't want the fame and crazy lifestyle, which I understand.
Problems started arising when she turned him down and friend zoned him, then immediately started going out with her best friend. She took this relationship pretty seriously, but from what I could tell it only lasted for a day (maybe more, I was reading this on the train at ridiculous o'clock in the morning). So why did she take it so bad? Get a grip and get your self a movie star!
She (eventually) did get herself a movie star, but honestly, the relationship moved very fast and quickly took a very unneeded turn for the worse.

A personal, quiet favourite. Love the book and Chloe and Jason's story, still the most human famous/non-famous romance I've come across. Only a star down because of some grammatical errors and I think the storyline is cramped slightly, but overall love the book.

Chloe Winters has spent her whole life being judged over something she had nothing to do with, if it were not from her mother’s indiscretions it was for a tragedy that occurred years ago. Chloe keeps all of this wound tightly and secure within her, not sharing even to her closest friends.
Talked into being an extra on a film being shot locally, Chloe happens to catch the eye of Hollywood heartthrob Jason Vanderholt. Jason is instantly focused on Chloe, she treats him like a regular guy and they build a friendship of sorts that continues to grow into something more. Chloe isn’t sure what this relationship is with Jason, she doesn’t trust easy and she is receiving mixed signals from her best friend Matthew. Throw in a dysfunctional mother, an enemy who she can’t seem to shake, and feelings she is not sure what to do with and you are in for a rare treat in this story.

I’ve always been a sucker for romantic fairytale-like stories. But when I heard about ‘Someone Else’s Fairytale’ is wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I started reading this book earlier this morning and I couldn’t put it down. I’ve neglected my house, forgot to drink (so I’m dehydrated right now) or eat and been reading all day. This book really exceeded all my expectations.
‘Someone Else’s Fairytale’ is a story about Chloe. She is your typical girl-next-door college girl who studies real hard and doesn’t go out much. Together with her roommate she volunteers as an extra at one of Hollywood star Jason ’s movies. Jason and Chloe accidentally meet and Chloe makes sure that Jason knows that she doesn’t want anything to do with him. But Jason doesn’t give up that easy and soon they become friends.
This is the first book I’ve read from Emily Tippetts and I must say I’m completely sold. This book was just amazing and greatly written. Emily Tippetts makes you love the characters. From the moment I read about Jason Vanderholt I was completely in love with his character.
I just really love this great book. Thank god the second novel ‘Nobody’s Damsel’ came out earlier. That’s definitely a book high on my to-read-next- list!
