This was a fantastic book! What an emotional roller coaster.

This is one of those stories that once you stop, be prepared to read in one sitting. While I enjoyed The Second Wife, I really feel like the story telling was done much better in this book. We get to see how Ally and Dave have coped with Ally being home. There are so many endearing moments between them. The other side of the story is how Ally's past comes back to haunt her, so we get a lot of suspense that keeps you turning pages. The story is carefully woven between the past and the present and thoughtfully put together. I'm very interested to see where the next book goes. I am voluntarily providing an honest review.

This is the second book in the Second Wife series. This was an intense emotional rollercoaster along with a lot of suspense. The Second Wife was an excellent book and this was one, too. This is definitely a series I look out into the world with different eyes. It makes human trafficking real to me.

I can not wait to read the next book, The Deadly Match.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Once I found out at the very start from a sample on Kindle that in this book David, her husband is dead I no longer had any interest in reading this series. In book 1 his death and well being was used as a threat for her to comply with her treatment from the baddie so to find he is dead I didn't see the point.

To me they needed their HEA together not with him being happy she's safe or happy he had helped her heal or whatever reason that is going to be given.
The only reason I would have considered reading this is to find out things that I felt were left out of the first book as it ended with her rescue and didn't deal with her healing and her future relationship with David. The whole fight was for their lives together and although it may be more realistic for him to be killed 'staged accident' it is not something I wanted to read about.
