***spoilers***

This is my second Agatha Christie book and first since highschool. I appreciate her storytelling in a shorter ~200 page book that is not filled with fluff.

I have not read many mysteries so I don’t have much to compare. Though, I felt from the beginning it was glaringly obvious Elinor had not been guilty and there must have been facts the reader would not be aware be aware of which is where Hercule Poirot comes in.

I would have liked to get more of Mary’s point of view and thoughts. Why was she in the chair looking out of the window?

I’m so glad Elinor got out and did not end up with Roderick. There is always something about a “first love” in stories but Peter did more for her with requesting Poirot’s assistance than Roderick did the entire book. Peter is the real hero in this story. Christie left the rest of their story to the imagination. In my mind Elinor and Peter lived happily ever after.
