It was a nice and short book, and the history behind it was very moving, however, that what makes it so dissappointing. I found myself wanting to know more about what was not written. I believe the narration is a little bit over the place and it comes like a tad patronizing. I loved Paul, but his writing felt more detached than what I espected in certain points. Still a good read.

Wow. I loved this book. In the wake of my mother-in-law’s death, this book brought me to tears at the beginning and at the end. Such a raw and honest account of what lies between learning about a terminal illness, the hope, the struggle, the reality, and the acceptance. I’m honored to have read this and feel so fiercely near to this understanding of life. Time never is long enough.

Immensely powerful, visceral posthumous memoir by a neuroscientist-neurosurgeon about his shifting philosophies around life and death in the face of his work and his cancer diagnosis. This was truly compelling to read, I finished it in one sitting. He has a very distinct, intelligent voice. Feel like this is one to return to at big moments of hardship and grief in life.
