4.5 stars

I was going to give this 4 stars but that ending definitely earned another half star.
The first half of this book was very slow for me and I was afraid I wasn't going to enjoy this as much as I did The Bone Season. Fortunately the second half picked up and I was once again hooked in the world and these characters.
Paige and Warden, man. Why do other ships even exist when we have them? They are perfection, in my eyes. Also, I shortly want to mention that I LOVE Samantha Shannon's kiss scenes. I really enjoyed the one in The Bone Season and the one in The Mime Order - OH THE FEELS. I loved it so so much.
Now - like many others - I will impatiently wait for The Song Rising to come out.

This book absolutely lives up to the hype of the first in the series! It’s a totally different vibe in The Mime Order - this somehow feels more dangerous, possibly due to its setting in London. I’m dreaming of going on a trip just to visit all the Bone Season locations! I fell more in love with my favorite characters, and my heart opened up to let even more in. Paige is my favorite protagonist of all time, and Jaxon is the ultimate villain! This series just keeps getting better and better with every layer that is pulled away from the mystery that is Scion. I am ready to go to war for Paige Mahoney!

Preordered this. And started it the day it landed on my Kindle.
Great action and fight scenes. Complicated, but not as complicated as The Bone Season, if you read that one.
Very good use of language, words I had to look-up, rich and requires a high level knowledge of english, with a strong basis in British English, as opposed to the current flood of cheap, low-level-english from some self-published YA-targeting-writers, very sophisticated. But requires also more work during reading, so this no light, fast read. And therefore better, imho, although I usually read 3-4 fast-read-low-level-YA books, this took me longer.
Also as the next book is not in sight, I did not want this one to end.

This is a book about a revolution, an insurrection, but only the planning and the first steps, it is unclear, how it will play out over the next books.
Should not be read as a standalone. More hints of romance, with a twist.
And in the end a really stunning cliffhanger.
Most highly recommended, solid 5star.

In my review for the first book, I said this is supposed to be a Trilogy, I learned since that is wrong, this is planned as 7 books. If this points to another popular series, you know what I mean, but I will not mention it. It is totally different, but I hope it will be as interesting.
