Amazingly easy to understand and written to be accessible to anyone regardless of their scientific or psychological knowledge. It manages to be informative dense while maintaining a narrative feel and kept me much more engaged than I expected!

Such a fantastic book, it’s so informative and helpful in understanding behaviour and brain development. 

If you work with people in any capacity, I definitely recommend this book.

This book was very difficult to read; the author recounts some of the worst cases of child abuse imaginable. That being said, it also provides the read with tremendous hope, mostly via fascinating insights into proven methods of treating trauma.
