What a beautiful book. A romantic story, mixed with mystery. Many characters, many secrets.

Since there are more books to this series, I thought the story wouldn't wrap up as much as it did. And that was only in the last tens of pages. Not in a rushed way though. The story ended neat in my opinion. Beautiful writing by the author, who writes in certain poetic way that is just wonderful to read.

Abandoned at 31%:

I actually cared about the story for the first 10% of this book, but it went downhill pretty quickly as it delved into boring and tedious subplots.

I usually give books a chance even if they start to bore me, but this one actively made me uncomfortable. The excessive objectification of women and a persistent theme of horniness just wasnt for me. I'm fine with content of that sort if the book employs satire or if the author takes a clear stance against it, but this book did neither. Its one of those books where the author's perspective is unmistakably male-centric. Not a single woman in the book had dimension or depth.
