I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I’m really intrigued to explore more of the characters, as I think there are some really interesting stories to come. I loved that this one didn’t have a third act break up, they had their obstacles that they had to get through but they did it as a team and got to the other side without losing themselves. Lilah is a tough character and watching her slowly open herself up to the life she wants and deserves, was really wholesome to watch, to see her finally live her life outside of other people’s shadows. Steele is one hell of a golden retriever for Lilah and will do absolutely anything for her, he never pushed her or made her feel uncomfortable, he made sure her needs were seen to before his own. He was so protective of her and let himself suffer just so he could see her happy. I loved that they had a solidly built friendship before they explored anything romantically and they always made sure that that was at the forefront of their minds. I really enjoyed their story, as it wasn’t this over the top love story and it felt very realistic, I felt like I was experiencing that and their love and commitment to each other first hand.

This book is friends to lovers done right. I love the way Steele and Lilah interact and the chemistry between the two is fantastic. This book was realistic and sensual and I had a great time while reading this one. The spicy scenes were wonderfully done and I loved that Steel was 100% about Lilah at all times. He does everything to protect and support her. This was my first time reading a book by this author and it will not be my last!

Audio narration was also wonderfully done by Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox.

I enjoyed Make Me Yours by Jennifer Sucevic; it’s a deeply emotional, friends-to-lovers hockey romance that kept me turning the pages.

Lilah finds herself at an emotional crossroads after walking in on her boyfriend, who also happens to be her boss, in a betrayal that shatters her sense of security and self-worth. In the aftermath, she moves into the penthouse guest room of her college best friend, Steele Sanderson, captain of the Chicago Railers. Without a job and trying to find herself, Lilah takes a job as Steele’s assistant and works to rebuild her life. Steele has always been Lilah’s safe place, but he has been harbouring a secret for years. He has been in love with Lilah, but the timing has never been right. He is prepared to use this moment to show her how perfect they would be together. Now Lilah must decide whether to keep pretending nothing has changed or to give in to the man who has been right in front of her all along.

I loved watching Lilah try to protect her heart while Steele made it very clear he was in love with her. Their connection felt genuine, deep-rooted in years of history, but also sparkled anew as they navigated living and working together. Steele is the kind of hero I adore every time: strong, loyal, and emotionally open. He knows what he wants—her—and never wavers.

What pulled me in was how much heart the story contains beneath all the tension and steam. Lilah’s fear of ruining the friendship and risking her healing made her decisions seem realistic, even when I wanted to shake some sense into her. And Steele’s patience and persistence—swoon-worthy. I loved watching Lilah realize the safest place she’s ever been is right beside the one person who never left her side.

It’s not just the romance that makes this story shine. The entire friend group—tight-knit, supportive, and full of personality—adds so much charm to the book. There’s something special about a cast of characters who show up for each other in big and small ways.

Make Me Yours is heartfelt, sexy, and full of joy. It’s about healing, showing up for each other, and recognizing that sometimes the person who’s been there all along is exactly who you are meant to choose. If you love hockey romance, protective heroes, and the cozy, loyal chaos of a chosen family, this book is for you. Thank you to Valentine PR and the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.

Yes!!!!! Jennifer Sucevic your have delivered the perfect series starter Lilah and Steele I couldn't get enough of them!

I devoured this I didn't want to put it down, but at the same time I wanted to because I didn't want it to end.

Jennifer hasn't done us dirty with this she's delivered the perfect book boyfriend in Steele Sanderson. He's the perfect mix of dirty, soft Dom in the bedroom and gentleman, golden retriever in the streets. He's loyal, protective and everything you'd want in a book best friend and boyfriend. The fact him and Lilah have been friends since college (over 10 years) adds to the sweetness of him and his total obsession and loving of her.

Lilah is a smart, loyal and loving. She's learning her worth after finding her boyfriend of two years cheating on her. She's loyal to her friends, supportive and always there for others. Steele has been her best friend since college and she's never seen what's been right in front of her, until now.

The angst of this comes from Lilah questioning her worth following her breakup, why she wasn't wanted the way she deserved to be wanted. Here's where Steele comes. In and delivers on everything she wants and needs because he's wanted her for years. Another blow comes later in the book, but I'll remain quiet for now, let's just say it pushes the together and makes everything even more perfect in Steele's world.

The friends with benefits is written brilliantly, actually showcasing how much they love each other as friends by supporting one another. Steele has taken notice of Lilah and remembers all her favorite things. The sexual chemistry between them once it's embraced is top notch. The scenes add to romance of it, not detract it reads passionate, intimate and downright amazing.

Make Me Yours
by Jennifer Sucevic kicks off the Chicago Railers Hockey series with an irresistible blend of romance, tension, and steamy chemistry. The story follows the journey of Lilah who finds herself at a crossroads after discovering her boyfriend, also her boss, cheating on her. Her best friend, Steele Sanderson, has always been her rock, and after the betrayal, he opens his home to her, offering comfort and support in her time of need.

As she moves into his penthouse and begins working as his assistant, she tries to convince herself that their living situation is temporary, that their friendship won’t change. But Steele has always seen her as more than just a friend, and the undeniable tension between them grows as he offers her a no-strings-attached friends-with-benefits arrangement. Steele is protective, possessive, and more than ready to make her his in every way.

The book skillfully navigates the complexities of their friendship-turned-romance, exploring the internal struggles of both characters as they try to balance their deep connection with the fear of losing it all. Jennifer Sucevic creates a dynamic that feels both heartfelt and fiery, as the chemistry between Steele and Lilah intensifies with each page.

Jennifer Sucevic masterfully builds the tension, making it impossible for readers not to root for the characters to take the leap. The story has a solid mix of lightheartedness and emotional depth, with enough heat to keep readers turning the pages. With a possessive hero and a heroine who finally embraces the love that's been in front of her all along, Make Me Yours offers a satisfying, swoon-worthy romance that fans of the genre will appreciate. It’s a perfect start to a new series with engaging characters, strong emotional stakes, and plenty of steam.

A friends to lovers where he's been obsessed with her for years, don't mind if I do. This progression between them just felt to natural. He was done hiding how much he loved her and wanted her to see that. The set up for the all the other couples is also so good.

OMG Steele Sanderson, you are my new favorite book boyfriend!

When i read the description of this book, where he has been in love with his best friend for years I knew I had to read it.
Steele and Lilah have been friends since collega and Steele has secretly been in love with her ever since. When Lilah becomes homeless and jobless after finding out her boyfriend/boss is having an affair Steele offers her a place to live and a job, so hello forced proximity and friends to lovers!
The slow burn and tension were delicious
Steele is the best friend any girl could ask for, he is sweet and always there for Lilah. But when this man finally gives in to the feelings he has kept hidden for ten years,
say goodbye to your panties!
After discovering her boyfriend cheated and she lost her job, moving in with her best friend is excactly what Lilah needs to get back on her feet, and in his bed

This book was equally sweet as it was hot
