I can't believe I'm going to say this about an Elizabeth Strout book, but....my audiobook loan at the library ran out when I was about 2/3 of the way through, and....I think I'm fine. I think maybe I'm just not ready for such an immersive novel about COVID yet. I may revisit it in a few years.

This is my favorite in this Lucy Barton book series. I might have avoided a story about the pandemic - too soon! - but it's told so thoughtfully that I just loved it.

This book like most of Elizabeth Strout's books are great stories of flaws in human character. it takes place during the pandemic- nothing like getting together during lock down with your ex. Finding all the faults in that relationship at the time seemed enormous- living through a pandemic to reconceptualize the bigger picture. What is really important in life. She is the best!
