Oooooo…I dug it! I really really really hope they get together and write more about The Agatha’s, because I could really get into a series of books with these two protagonists. I love the well-developed characters, all the way down to the seemingly least important of them. And I kinda wish Crystal Cove were real. It’s such a great “home” for the Agathas and the sleuthing they do. It’s a great read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. My students can’t get enough murder mysteries, and this one is sure to be a hit with fans of One Of Us Is Lying. It follows an unlikely duo in a small, wealthy town as they navigate the murder of a classmate. Alice has been outcast from the Mains, who run the school. Back from house arrest, she is paired with Iris, who tends to blend in with her surroundings, as a tutor. When they hear of a death after a party, they team up when the police department is clearly hiding something. Good twists at the end had me gasping at the oil change place. Recommended for mature 7th grade and up.

A little slow to start, but then the book started cruising. Good solid mystery!

Such an excellent story about two unlikely allies working together to solve a crime. The allies? One Alice Ogilvie, who became a little notorious the year before when she disappeared for a time, then came back perfectly fine. She had her reasons, okay? And, Iris Adams, a straight A student who is desperately trying to get her and her mother out of town. These high school girls have absolutely nothing in common except for a love for solving mysteries. Alice became obsessed with Agatha Christie over summer, and Iris is a fan of true crime novels. Together, they’ll end up solving the murder of the most popular girl in school. They just might become good friends in the process, as well. The ending left and opening for a sequel, so I do hope that actually happens. Good stuff!
