I cried (multiple times), I laughed and I absolutely fell in love with Florence Day and her weird little life. The magical realism is always used in such a precise way by Ashley Poston that it always hits home (especially if you're ever grieved, this book is also an ode to that). The love story was wholesome and sort of gut-wrenching at times, but I was mostly in for Florence working through all that baggage (and punching some of it, if you know you know)

This was my favorite book I read all year, hands down. Cute but different and unexpected!

Also I’m dying for a prequel book with more details about 13 year old Florence and the murder she helped solve!

Okay I love Florence so much and Ben is dreamy ♡ This is such a cute romance and, I know I’m a sucker for a story with themes of grief, but I loved the backdrop of this novel set in a funeral parlour but somehow being the most wholesome funeral and sudden death ever. I miss them already

The family dynamic and the storyline about her father was a 5/5. The romance was a 3/5. Maybe 2.5/5.
