I had extremely high expectations for book, and I was hesitant going into it because I was afraid I'd be disappointed. However, it met and exceeded all of my expectations! It was everything I'd hoped it would be and I loved the way Anna and TJ's relationship was handled throughout. A beautiful read.

loved it :)

This book seemed to always be in and around Amazon Kindle's top sellers with a good price tag so I thought I'd give it a go. The story starts quite swiftly with Anna jetting off to spend the summer as the tutor for T.J. a rich young teenager recovering from cancer.

On route to their summer home the seaplane they are travelling in crashes and they find themselves stranded on a deserted island. At this point in the book things got a little 'rose tinted' for my liking as they find themselves somehow surviving (in my opinion at points a little too easily).

The book has a tendency to flip through large periods of time quite quickly and in relatively few chapters they've been on the island months, then years and suddenly T.J is not a boy anymore but a young man of 19 and the reliance that he and Anna have on each other for life, sanity and survival leads to love.

Although parts of the book were a little bit idealistic in my view it didn'tdetract from the authors excellent building of the relationship between Anna and T.J and how in extreme circumstances we often find ourselves drawn to people we otherwise wouldn not have loved and how this can change our lives forever,

It was beautifully honest. Real. I mean, real for the set of circumstances. When I bought it, I wasn't sure how I would like it...wasn't sure how the author would tackle the different issues. But it was perfect for me. Even when things happened that were almost too real for me (been used to reading fairy tale stories maybe) -- she did it in such a way that I still loved the characters and understood. I could read of Anna and TJ all day long, and while I always wanted more, she really paced it well, leaving me satisfied, but not dragging things on unnecessarily. And when the end came, she continued on to give me enough epilogue to make sure I didn't feel cheated. Basically, for me, this book was perfect. So many ranges of emotions, I felt them all for Anna and TJ. Wow, this is the first time my review actually almost makes sense....yay me!

Finished before midnight! I thought I wouldn't finish this in a day! :P Been busy with converting something so I didn't get enough time to read and well, I spent until before midnight to finish it.

Oh boy. I was having doubts with this one when I decided to read it. It was because my reader played with me, I thought that I'm gonna read a 600 page book. But really it's just 300 something. I just read this in one day! Yay! I would finish it sooner if I didn't do anything other than read, but well, anyway...

I was speechless. I enjoyed reading it, I smiled, laughed and got teary-eyed. When I started it, I wished that I would like it. And yes, I got my wish, I loved it. From the start, the story had me. I got hooked, I almost didn't want to eat cause I want to read what happened to them. The love story was, for me, predictable. We all know what the world view of having a huge age gap relationship - 13 years age difference - people would surely talk about it, especially in this book because Anna is a teacher. BUT, the rest of the story? NO, it's not predictable.

Survival is never predictable in an island. I would never dream of living in a deserted island with nothing at all but trees, ocean animals and the sea in front of you. Anna and TJ did everything to survive. I really thought that they were going to die and will never be home again.

I love that Anna and TJ's romance didn't start as soon as they were stranded on the island. It develops slowly, giving them enough time. Sure, TJ was attracted to Anna from the start but he didn't just jump to her once he had a chance.

I really can't explain very well why and how I love this book. I recommend it to all, I don't really mind the cursing in here and some sex since it's not really THAT descriptive unlike to some books I read. :P

On the Island is a wonderful and amazing book. I couldn't put it down, devouring it in one sitting. It is very well written and has all the elements that together form a great story of romance. I needed an HEA after reading too many dark romance novels with shitty and depressing endings. Thank you for that, Tracey Garvey Graves!

I could relate to the story as well. True, I've never spent three years on a deserted island with a beautiful woman 13 years my senior, but my name is T.J.

4.5 stars

I was hesitant on reading this book because of the age of TJ and the premise of the story. But, I trusted some of my goodread friends and I'm glad I did. This was a VERY good read. The emotional toll and struggles of these two pulled at the heartstrings. I loved how the story and struggle progressed. Some are spoiler-ish so I'll just saw I like how the story was full circle. I love two story perspectives and it was much needed for this story. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to my friends for a sweet romance read.

I had no idea what my wife was talking about when she would say she has a "book hang over".....until I read this book. Actually, Foxy and I read it together, splitting up the TJ / Anna parts. I can remember sitting in the van, while Andrew was at soccer practice, blubbering while trying to read. I was a mess, but a good mess.

I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially to couples who like to read together.
