Everything was going along so well, the story was so enjoyable.
But then, the breakup. That's when I skipped to the epiloque.

I wish they didn’t get together so fast. I wanted to see more of him pursuing her, just to build some tension, make it a bit more intense.

Also, I feel like Rashaad is full of s**t. Because how you convinced somebody to keep a child she doesn’t want and then make her seem like the bad guy because she admits that motherhood is not for her. I am not defending Carmen because she did some s**t, some selfish s**t. But also, Rashaad with all his “my spirit is telling me” talk is just 🙄. You are not innocent sir.

I wanted more for/from Aubrielle. She seemed interesting in the beginning of the book, but as their relationship progressed she became a bit boring to me.

I didn’t like the parents.
I didn’t like the drama.

DID NOT FINISH: 53%

It was a good book, just not for me! The male love interest seemed like the type of dude that’ll say whatever a woman wants to hear. I don’t respond to charming men, I don’t trust them. But that’s my personal preference. Also, the smut level was higher than my particular liking, but again, personal preference. It was well written though and I liked every character except the male love interest.

You can’t choose who you love

You can’t choose who you love, but you can choose who you stay for, who you show up for. Rahsaad was so damn sweet & intentional. Bri was open, supportive, and loving. They faced some difficult times together that had me on the edge of my seat

I picked this up completely on a whim after a late night scroll through my KU suggestions. I'm glad I didn't let it linger. Aubreille and Rashaad had an instant, cosmic like connection and it was nice to see a man fall fast and not hide his feelings. There's a couple bumps in the road and honestly I feel like the "third act breakup" was totally justified. That aside this was hot, really well paced and all the characters seemed fleshed out. I'll for sure read from this author again.

Excellent storyline!!! I love how different this story was. The roller rink theme took me back to my childhood!!! Throw in a fine single dad and you can’t go wrong. I’m a fan of insta love light on the drama and this author served it up perfectly. Elle and Rashaad were meant to be and they had an instant connection with a small bump in the road to their HEA. Elle took on the challenge of being a mother figure and I had nothing but respect for her character!! Can’t to see what the author is cooking up next! Another 5 star read.

Pacing was a little weird and some parts were a kind of cringey but other than yet, this was a sweet steamy read.
