I loved the Music of the Night. It was captivating from start to finish with it's inspiration of Phantom of the Opera giving it a very gothic musical theatre feel.
I thought the use of the story as a base to build upon had it feeling like it could have been part of that world easily. It was well done and the story that Angela J. Ford crafted was solid and only uses the Phantom of the Opera as almost a setting and feel rather than a retelling.
I thought how the music played such an important roll in the story was fun and just ft the vibe of the book so well. I also thought most of the characters were good with Aria and Uriah stealing the show with all their interactions being something that Both Aria and I were keen to happen.
Upon finishing this book I'm happy to say that there is series and the other books all sound just as interesting and fun. I cannot wait to get to them.

When I read the synopsis I thought it was going to be a story full of mystery, puzzles, steamy romance and, obviously, Phantom of the Opera vibes. But I found none of that in Music of the Night, instead, I found instant romance, the occasional steamy scene full of euphemisms and a dash of mystery that you solve yourself in one sitting. All in all, I liked the author's narrative and writing style and it helped keep the reading from getting heavy and repetitive. Considering that her other books have better ratings I may give it a second chance in the future.
