So, I'm currently reading this issue, and Wow! Great stuff. At the moment, "Everything Is Haunted" by J. M. McDermott is my favorite--it's just amazing. Emotionally gripping, wonderfully written (non-linear, multiple view points, clear writing), engaging, and the environmental - human ramifications are spot on. It is a haunted story, and not in the oooh a spooky ghosty kind of way. For real haunted. A haunted people, a haunted past. I actually read J. M. McDermott's story three times before going on to read others.

I love that not all the stories are tied up with a bow and "plot-heavy"--or at least they didn't feel that way. So if they are, then my hats off, because I tend to dread that kind of writing a little--I get bored with it. I was in no way bored reading these tales and poems. I was there, in it, and didn't want to put the issue down.
