I had kind of a hard time getting through this one. It was not terrible. The story was cute and had great potential, especially later on. My biggest problem was Lace. To me she was too whiny. She was constantly on about how "dirty" and "broke" she was. Instead of feeling like she was really trying to better her situation, I really felt more like she was constantly feeling sorry for herself. And she kept telling Jax to make her feel safe. Then there was this whole part about "her secret" which I didn't quite understand what the "secret" was. That she was a very sexual person? She could get herself off? I don't know exactly what it was. There was a couple of good twists here and there. I just couldn't form an attachment to Lace. Jax was a pretty typical rich and powerful H. Some of the things that he said were kind of cheesy, but that happens sometimes. I do feel like there was a great story there, it just was not told in a way that drew me in.
