This had an interesting twist and I appreciate the background info the author sprinkled in here to help it make sense. The author used a lot of uncommon words and I did need to stop quite a bit to look up some definitions. I am a bit confused why there's an epilogue especially since it takes place the same day as the story, but it does open things up nicely if they were planning this to be a prequel to something longer that continues the story.
