There was no point to this. It read like a short novella between regular novels in a series. Nothing was really explained, nothing was really resolved.
This was one hell of a confusing novella. I still don't understand what the point of the whole story was. It was incredibly descriptive for no reason at all. Half of the story was useless descriptions that didn't add anything to the plot or whole storyline. I didn't enjoy this writing style and didn't connect with anything in the story. It made me feel nothing at all. Nothing about it excited me and I didn't feel any sort of connection with the characters. The ending didn't make any sense and it felt like the plot point wasn't even explored fully so hence it left me real confused.

Another Alibis Collection novella checked off my list ✅ and this one took me by surprise! The twist? Totally unexpected.
The Skydivers was a quick, fast-paced read told over two timelines (which I always love) and written from multiple perspectives. I’ve never read anything by Chris Bohjalian before, but after this, I’ll definitely be checking out more of his work.
As with most novellas, I was left wanting a bit more — but for such a short read, this one really held my attention. The pacing was sharp, the tension built steadily, and that quote? “Never underestimate the human capability to make the worst decision possible” — absolutely haunting in the best way.
A solid 3-star read and a great reminder that a good twist doesn’t need 400 pages.
