Not bad. Gets at sexism without turning sexists off I imagine. Interesting and informative. So much arsenic.

I picked up this book because I love Telfer's podcast. I did enjoy learning about these deadly women, some more infamous than others, as well as the social and historical contexts that shaped them and their legacies. However, I would've probably preferred listening to these stories in the podcast since this book reads very colloquially, which is a downside.

First of all, this book really should have been titled "Killer Ladies" instead of "Lady Killers". I felt like I was walking around with a book about people who exclusively killed women instead of a booking highlighting women who kill. Its little things like this all through the book that kept me from truly loving it. It was informative and didn't overshadow the terrible things these women did but it was always undercutting the stories somehow.

Good. I never dip into nonfiction so this was fun ride

Really a 4.5. I can't even begin to express how excited I was to find out that Belle Gunness wasn't included in this list. HALLELUJAH! *prayer hands emoji*

If you're looking for a book that explores the psychology and sociology of female serial killers this isn't the book you're looking for. The author does touch on those issues, but there's no deep dive. Instead the book is broken up into chapters which highlight different female serial killers. There's touches of gallows humor that some readers may find off-putting, but did the job of adding some levity to a serious subject. Also, Telfer chooses to focus on female killers from eras long past which means So. Much. Poison. Like seriously, dying by arsenic sounds positively gruesome and these gals were Messed. Up.

Good, not great. A solid choice for an audiobook - it certainly broke up the monotony of my daily commute.

This was a really repetitive book about women poisoning men they were romantically involved with. It did not keep me interested.
