this book was really interesting at first. the stories are wild, especially learning about Nannie Doss. but I was hoping their would be some commentary about how this relates to sociological ideas of gender and femininity, and how these women defy or abuse the gendered expectations that society placed on them. after a while, the stories just seem a bit repetitive. only made it about halfway through :/

This is a good, but frightening book examining past female serial killers. The author makes an excellent point that we often want to think female serial killers are not the psychopaths we are willing to ascribe to so many male serial killers. This book does a good job of examining females who likely had no other reason to kill than...they liked it.

rather repetitive unfortunately
