Hanock's exploration of ancient civilizations will make you question everything you learned in history class. He explores the possibility that an ancient, highly intelligent, and technologically advanced people existed prior to the ice age and that we aren't the first advanced civilization to leave our mark on the Earth. I recommend to anyone interested in alternative viewpoints on our history!

I try not to be easily swayed when reading about certain subjects, but the author, Graham Hancock, did a phenomenal job of convincing me of every one of his theories. Most of the book discusses the Giza pyramids and the Sphinx in Egypt and how their mysterious construction, and the construction of Mayan pyramids, are all related to a possible ancient civilization as advanced as our own. These massive structures and certain inscriptions could have been intended to pass on knowledge, as well as serve as a warning of a massive cataclysmic event like the one that may have wiped out theirs. Using similarities in myths and structure design across the globe, the alignment of the pyramids and Sphinx with constellations of a specific age long before recorded history, and other geological evidence supporting a shift of the earth's crust, Fingerprints of the Gods is one hell of a compelling read. And you will be convinced by the end of this book that these are not mere conspiracy theories and myths, but most likely shreds of truth that managed to make it to our ears through thousands and thousands of years.

A really good, interesting look at pre-history that pushes against the door, trying to open us up to a likely probability.

Absolutely fascinating. Highly recommend if you’re interested in archaeology, ancient civilizations and myths, or the mysteries/unknowns of our human history and world. I will be revisiting this book because there is A LOT of information and it is a lot to digest. Hancock reinforces the fact that you simply can’t blindly believe what history books or even the field of archaeology says is true. There is a lot of territory that is unexplored and a lot of conclusions that deserve to be questioned. Thankful for the pioneers and questioners of their fields such as Graham Hancock for without them we would be doomed. I appreciate how Hancock explains his theories not only based on significant physical geological evidence, but also a series of very logical reasoning and deduction. I also chuckled as he describes how he bribed the guards at the Giza pyramids.
P.S: If you’re hoping his theories involve aliens, you will be sorely disappointed.

I first learned about Graham from watching the tv series Ancient Aliens. He brings interesting ideas to this book with hard facts to back them up. I also listened to this and Graham has a great voice for narration.
