--------------
👨🏻⚕️ I have to praise the mother of sci-fi at 19 years old. But for me, the story felt flat.
👨🏻⚕️ For those that read classics you will recognise the beautiful and poetic writing, full of adjectives, but, certainly, also the ruined and melancholic protagonist, consumed by his suffering to the point of... from it(Spoiler).
👨🏻⚕️ I didn't dislike the life story of the monster, but his intellectual development doesn't make sense. Or Frankenstein found the brain of literary genius how could he learn to talk like his maker just from hearing and READING CLASSICS? (in a year and half/two years he went from not knowing what hunger and thirst are to being, in a way, as good as his maker).
👨🏻⚕️ I never saw a film and only knew references (at least I knew Frankenstein was the doctor 😂), what made the story interesting was discovering how it was narrated and to whom.
Minor: Death, Grief, Murder, Abandonment
The complexity of Frankenstein's monster is hands down one of the best aspects of this book. I like his development and how he's becoming more human throughout the book. I believe the author did manage to make the reader feel for him. After all, he was just misunderstood and needed love.
Page 52, calm mind.
I hoped for a happier ending, but it wasn't bad.
I'm glad I read this book.
