This book was absolutely amazing but it did wreck my heart so much! Especially the audiobook as Teddy and CJ were such stunning narrators for this story.
Charlie is a grumpy rancher that started runaway ranch. He doesn't like a lot of people but when Ruby arrives in town that changes. Ruby finds that Charlie dislikes her but when she is the one that can help out him and his brothers to save the ranch that changes. They work together more closely as Ruby does the social media for the ranch but Ruby also has a secret. She is running away to do her bucket list as she has some heart issues she tells no one about. They more the summer progresses the more they fall for each other but danger is lurking for them as someone has set eyes on the ranch.
I loved Ruby so much as she is unapologeticaly herself and she doesn't back down for anything. Charlie hasn't lived life to the fullest in many years and I am so glad Ruby was there to change it. Also Teddy Hamilton as voice for Charlie was the best choice as he is so good at portraying grumpy characters.
Be sure to check out this audiobook/book if you are looking for a grumpy/sunshine, steamy romance!being
Thanks to Ava Hunter for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! I love Charlie Montgomery. Ruby is the perfect match for Charlie and I was so glad they got their HEA. There was so much going on during this book but it set the scene for a great series at Runaway Ranch. This book was a bit long for my liking but that’s a me problem.
So excited for the second book!

So sweet and so good. 5 vibe stars

These two were the sweetest most loving pair. I adored the fact that she got to experience life on her terms even in the end, she had Charlie by her side, allowing her to live life with his care and by her side. I liked how he fell for her and didn't compare her to his first love, because this is one of the only "widow romances" that I've truly enjoyed. He wasn't always hung up on his past lover and instead fell head first into this thing with Ruby.
And Ruby was so strong and brave, I loved how she realized that you have to live not only to survive, even if she annoyed me by not telling Charlie about her heart when he confessed about his past.
I'm not sure if I'll read the next one because I HATE the "pregnant-with-other-man-baby" trope, but Davis was scrumptious. I will however read Ford's story and Fallon's too!!

I loved this book! This is my first Ava Hunter book, and it won't be my last. I loved Charlie and Ruby. I can't get enough of grumpy cowboys I love them. Their chemistry was so good. I also liked Charlie's brothers. I can't wait to read their books. I enjoyed the mystery/suspense throughout the book. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The epilogue and the extended epilogue were my favorites. I'm excited about Davis's book!

The FMC continuously not telling the MMC about her heart condition is the one thing that brought this book's rating down.

I’m writing this review fashionably late but that’s beside the point.
Did I love this book? Eh, not necessarily. Only reason I didn’t truly love it was because I found that she was a little too sunshine-y. And really, that’s a me problem. But like her constant sunshine state irritated me so badly and in retrospect it shouldn’t have. I just kept thinking, as the wonderful Meredith Grey once said ”Not everybody has to be happy all the time. That’s not mental health. That’s crap”. (Again, this is definitely a me problem and in no way should deter you from picking up this book)
There were also other things she did that irritated me, but I won’t say for spoiler purposes. She did grow on me towards the end but for most of the book I just kept sitting there thinking “girl, please get angry at least once!”
