Tame the Heart

Our FMC is the most sunshine-y person to ever exist, so much so she is described as this angelic glowing creature that you wish to be annoyed at but you can’t cause god damn it does she have the personality of really making lemonade.

I’m not going to lie, but I hated the first chapter, the writing was annoying it felt like the author knew she wanted our FMC to get to her “running away” but didn’t quite figure out how. So quick let’s make her crash her car to avoid a squirrel. And let’s not mention the “stick my tongue out at my reflection, I was preparing myself with the mantra of ‘do not be cringed out you can keep reading’. And keep reading I did and you know what? I’m glad I did.

If she is our golden sunshine then our MMC is our grey grumpiest cowboy, and boy does he take it to another level. His introduction was the moment when my brain was like wait, go on, this could be going somewhere. We get brothers, we get a hint of family lore. I can see the vision, I can plan the couples. Damn it, I’m excited!

The tension and the building of lust is great. I just love it when the author hits that sweet spot of enough tease and build up so that when they have s*x it just feels right. And boy, does it feel right, he has the “I’ve got you” vibe of “I’m showing you how it’s done” and she’s literally got the “this could kill me vibe but f*ck it, it will be worth it”. And I would say it’s certainly is worth it.

She falls but damn does he fall harder, and he is grasping and never letting her go. They are both keeping their secrets, it’s only meant to be for the summer after all. She’s there to help his ranch, and he helps her “to-do list (so do it)”.  But as the story goes when you wear the hat, you keep the cowboy.

Oh and just ignore that her surname is Bloom and her dad owns a flower shop called “Bloom’s Blooms” and she also wants a flower shop. Talk about flower power.

Three random thoughts:
- Gotta persevere through the cringe, talking to you Bloom’s Blooms.
- Cannot picture anything worse than being naked on a beach.. that’s too much sand for me.
- Who did the bones belong to??!

Oh, what a wonderful read. Loved the mcs so much. Love the story, the setting, the characters. I just hoped there was more suspense part but nonetheless I really enjoyed my time reading this.

This is the 1st book of Ava’s I have read and I really enjoyed it. I love me a grumpy cowboy with mouthy brothers and this did not disappoint. Charlie is definitely a hot grumpy cowboy and it always seems the tiniest of woman always calm them. True also in this case with Ruby, she can tame him right down. I am looking forward to the rest of the series! Especially when we get to Wyatt! I think he will be the hottest one! I’m sure Fallon will whip him into shape!

It also makes me envious of the family bond they have. I wish everyone had a supportive and loving family like book families!

Ruby has kept her heart guarded her entire life. Armed with a bucket list and a quest to be on her own, Ruby finds herself on a ranch in Montana where she meets Charlie Montgomery. Charlie isn’t Ruby’s biggest fan and wants nothing more than for this stranger to leave his town. But, when Charlie saves Ruby from a bar fight, things get complicated.

Tame the Heart is a sweet, grumpy sunshine romance with a dash of suspense. This book does start off a bit slow, however, my curiosity about Ruby kept me going and I’m glad I stuck with it. Ruby was a brave, bright, ball of sunshine who just wanted to experience life and wasn’t about to let a grumpy cowboy get her down. Charlie is the absolute definition of a grumpy cowboy, and I couldn’t get enough! Together Ruby and Charlie had the best chemistry and I loved the tension between them. These characters were definitely put through the paces and I loved watching them navigate their way to a happily ever after.

Overall, I thought this book was an enjoyable read and I look forward to checking out more from this author in the future.

Ruby is such a honey going through such rough waters, and Charlie is the perfect overprotective grump. I fell in love with this series from the jump!!

Charlie Montgomery has stolen my heart. He’s BOOK HUSBAND material. I love everything about him. I wish he was real and he’d call me Sunflower
