It had potential but I just spent most of the book being mad at Ruby.

Kinda cute and fun, execution could of been better
I’ve been meaning to try Ava Hunter’s books and chose to start her Runaway Ranch Series and it did not disappoint.
Ruby’s condition and her way of viewing life really tugged at my heart. I love how positive she was even when she was living on borrowed time. And Charlie, my grumpy broken cowboy, who was living with the guilt of dead loved one. I was on an emotional whirlwind by the end of the book. I love the development of Ruby and Charlie’s relationship and also the suspense had me intrigued. The representation of Ruby’s condition was done well and the secondary characters particularly Charlie’s brothers were very interesting.
Overall, a great sweet story and I’m definitely intrigued to read the rest.

I love Ava Hunter mainly for the fact that I get to eat up the most dramatic happenings in her book, like yes queen, give me chaos, give me overprotective, give it all to me. My only beef with this book… “gasp” was one of, if not the only expression Ruby seemed to be able to give off. A mock gasp, a surprised gasp, an in awe gasp, she’s just gasping left, right and centre. Overall though, this was a great read for something easy, feeding all my drama craved feelings and giving me a fun romance,

this was actually a pretty good romance, but it felt very repetitive. like a lot of repeated monologues by both of them and her saying “oh charlie” a million times. there wasn’t a ton of cringy moments or excessively used pet names which i loved! it also bothered me that it took her SO long to just tell him about her condition—it was dragged on for too long. all in all, it was a cute small town romance, but probably could’ve had like 100 pages cut out.

Why did this stress me out? Da faq? I was not expecting that… anyways my hurt/comfort ass did have a shit eating grin on my face while this man was going through it. SORRY but i love a man in pain because of a woman. I was quite literally kicking me feet in the air LMAO.

I absolutely devoured this book! Charlie and Ruby are everything. I love that they both struggled, but found a new life with each other!
