VLADIMIR: What do we do now?
ESTRAGON: Wait.
VLADIMIR: Yes, but while waiting.
ESTRAGON: What about hanging ourselves?
VLADIMIR: Hmm. It‘d give us an erection.
ESTRAGON: (highly excited) An erection!

A really good play, unusual, funny, and moving. I love the characterization of the relationship between the two men.

I think my biggest issue with this is that I would have enjoyed it more had I watched the play, rather than read it in the span of a few days. Seeing it on stage might have gotten a point across more than just me, reading it alone.

I liked what it said about how (at least, in my interpretation) things go around and around, without any resolution. But when it came down to the actual plot, and a more specific meaning, I just wasn't that into it. I know that means it can mean pretty much whatever you want it to, but that doesn't mean anything to me. That has no meaning to me.

It's already short at a hundred pages (and I have no clue how long the stage version runs), and I didn't get that much out of it, even with the small amount that it did have. When I finished it, I liked how they wrapped things up, but it was very, "that's it?" Maybe I'd have gotten more out of this had I looked more into different interpretations, the history of it, etc, but I just don't have the time or interest for that at the moment.

I'm probably not picking up on all the complexities in this play.

"Let's go."
"We can't."
"Why?"
"We're waiting for Godot."
"Ah!"
