This was a weird read. I swayed between 3 star and 4 star, and finally settled to round it down because I think it would be slightly more interesting to discuss this book than to read and digest it alone. It was a big bag of absurd passivity, discomfort, mundaneness to the point of madness, defining relationships and human bonding, isolation and - I don't know - dryness and meaninglessness of simply being (?). Ok, I am swaying again - so 3.5/5. Recommended, so that we can discuss. :P

I'm going to give this play three stars cause I kind of feel sorry for Vladimir and Estragon. I did not get it, though:)

I listened to the audiobook while I read it, which I highly recommend for anyone reading a play you haven't seen performed. I had only read an excerpt of it in high school as part of our study of [b:Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead|18545|Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead|Tom Stoppard|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1338735611l/18545._SY75_.jpg|73811]—two of the 20th century's finest plays, in my opinion!

And once you've read it you can fully enjoy this sketch by James Corden and Benedict Cumberbatch. You're welcome: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2200400653309951

Took me very long to read it. The plot is non-existent, but the message (don’t waste your life waiting for something to happen... life has to be lived) is superb
