incredible script, i don’t like reading plays but it was so good
I just finished Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. While it seems pointless and inane on the surface, I really enjoyed the play and the story that Beckett told.
I read it as two people, Vladimir and Estragon, caught in purgatory who get a glimpse of their future selves in the characters of Pozzo and Lucky. Vladimir and Estragon are waiting for Godot, who never arrives, and they are caught in a vicious, never ending cycle, kind of like the movie Groundhog Day. It is interesting to contemplate what they would have to do to finally meet Godot to move out of the purgatory in which they are caught.
Waiting for Godot is short, humorous, bizarre (in an okay way), and it is a pretty memorable imagining of the hereafter.

didi and gogo now in the running for my favorite onstage couple. shocking how much can be seen in (or perhaps projected onto) this. inkblotty. riotously funny onstage (big ups to r mcnamara of scena theatre in DC - the bloviating ego was apparently well and hard earned.)
ESTRAGON:
You'll help me?
VLADIMIR:
I will of course.
ESTRAGON:
We don't manage too badly, eh Didi, between the two of us?
VLADIMIR:
Yes yes. Come on, we'll try the left first.
ESTRAGON:
We always find something, eh Didi, to give us the impression we exist?
