Didn't know what to expect from this as I went in blind and I'm so glad I did. Dark humour, death and loveable flawed characters. It made me think, it made me laugh, it almost made me cry. I adored it. I think it might be my favourite ever.

depressing to think the afterlife is no different than right now. i get that it's probably the point, but all of the mcs are aggravatingly annoying.

A charming, cynical, witty, nihilistic, contemplative, dark comedy.

Yes, folks, five stars, even though it's a pretty bleak read. Our main character is not particularly likeable -- he describes himself as not very curious about the world, which is accurate -- yet I sort of liked him anyway.

What if the afterlife was just as mundane as the present life?

Throw in a global pandemic. And a love triangle or two. And a life of crime. Tada! Surprisingly good, and though it's a very cynical book, I dug it.
