honestly. this was a great book. LIKE A REALLY GOOD BOOK. i actually really liked it??? it was so nice??? was she a little emo at the start but she had her reasons. they had nice banter??? their understanding of each other was so cute??? i did skip most of the sex scenes BUT THEY WERE SO SWEET W ONE ANOTHER??? i do love this. and honestly holden is the love of my life and julep (weird name but i kinda love it) is such a cutie AND A POLE DANCER (still dont know how i feel about that but respect honestly). great great book and such an easy read. def my favorite and i like the fact that unlike the others there wasnt some random ass conflict the last 3 chapters, no it was smth anticipated and smth the book had been leading up to yk?? so yes. MAJOR improvement from the other two.

5/5 stars.

100000000/5 stars.

I thought I couldn't love a book in this series more than Blind Side. SURPRISE: I was wrong. Who's surprised? No one.

This story was so beautiful. Not only did I love the characters, but the beautiful representation of grief that was shared between Holden and Julep made me emotional every time. Kandi Steiner is so good at representation in her books, and I'm not just talking about LGBTQ+ and disability (though she is good at that too), but most of all experiences and emotions. I'd be shocked if she hadn't gone through a similar experience to what she detailed in this book. It was amazing.

My favorite characters were Holden's uncles. They had me laughing every time they show up.

Holden & Julep’s story completely blew me away.

I was expecting the sneaking around, the secrets and even the potential that they’d get caught but I didn’t expect the tragedy that brought these two closer than anything else could. The way Holden truly saw Julep and could read her hurt, whew that was freaking gold. They both lost so much and had so much to gain.

“I need you, I told him with every kiss. I’m here, he said back with every thrust of his hips. Don’t leave me, I begged with every bite of my nails into his back. And when we finished, and he sat against the window, pulling me into his lap and kissing me hard and long and relentlessly until I was straddling him and we were connected again, I knew his answer without him uttering a single word. I never could.”

Like are you serious?!

Quarterback Sneak was a close second for my favorite book of the Red Zone Rivals series. It is Holden and Julep's story. Tropes: forbidden relationship (coach's daughter), reverse grumpy/sunshine, neighbors to lovers. Spice: 4/5. Both Holden and Julep have suffered tragedies in their pasts; while Holden has managed to move forward despite his grief, Julep is struggling to do the same. She is drowning in pain and guilt, and Holden sees that. They can see things in one another that others don't and understand each other's pain. In spite of being continually drawn together, they are both are off limits to the other and try to fight their growing attraction and feelings. As their relationship progresses from trainer-athlete and neighbors to secret lovers, Julep learns that she can count on Holden and begins to see she can still have happiness in her life despite believing that it was no longer possible. Their relationship is sweet, steamy, and healing, and their banter is top notch. This story is emotional, full of angst, and really well done.
