I wanted to like this but... I didn't enjoy it as much as the others.
Julep is selfish. Nothing has changed in that regard imo. One would think she would try to learn from her trauma but I don't think she did.
Her dad is a terrible coach and a terrible person. The way that he threatened other people's kid's futures in favour of his own child? lol.
Knowing what type of person she was?

It makes sense to want the best for your child but if you know your child is the bad seed planter, how tf can you with good conscience have smoke for everyone else and not your child?

You want to talk about seeing yourself in a main character….I am a coach’s daughter who grew up to be an athletic trainer….and he ends up on my favorite team in the end. Love. Love it so much!!

I loved every single second of this book. The dedication alone had me in a chokehold. The bond and connection that these two shared was everything. Both from taunted pasts, loss and trauma but turned out to be so perfectly fitting for each other. Please check TW
The forbidden aspect that she was the coaches daughter and Holden the team captain made things that much trickier for them to be together but despite all odds they just fit. Lots of emotions, steam and tenderness between these two. I was squealing, giggling and kicking up my feet reading their banter and deep conversations.
Lots of sneaking around oh and did I mention they live next door to each other? Julep is a pole dancer who likes to dance with her window open and almost naked?? Holden is also a softy who GARDENS!!! And double texts and checks in and cracks jokes and asks questions! I fucking love that man okay LOVE.

I love Kandi Steiner’s story telling and the tropes she includes in her writing. This book was the perfect forbidden love/ college romance story. It was simple yet had me on my toes. I loved this book and it’s characters. Steiner does an excellent job building a world for her characters and giving us sneak peaks into future stories. Steiner is deeply underrated.
