Without realizing, I managed to finish Ninth House right before Hell Bent was released, so I was able to slide into it with everyone's stories fresh on my mind. The dark academia, privileged underbelly, clumsy intrigue, and everything else were all still very much present, and the characters were even more likeable this time around. While I think Ninth House is starkly unique and carries a more clever metaphor, Hell Bent is a fun sequel, more action-packed than deep. It's a quick read, and I'm sad I'll have to wait awhile for the next book in the series.

This book didn’t disappoint me. I felt like it had the same emotions and feelings from Ninth House. The intrigue was still there for me. I was able to figure out a few more things in this one faster than ninth house but still had a few things I didn’t see coming. It was a rather enjoyable read for me.
