kind of fun but i think she wants us to take her seriously?

another un-self-aware millienial who thinks that writing about sex work is still edgy.

Awesome concept and distinctive setting, with the Hamptons society feeling like a character of its own. It was addictive reading as protagonist Alex wove a web of lies she couldn't control but sadly the ending did not deliver climax or catharsis.

A great story that feels unfinished.

I am a bit unclear why the GR rating is so low - I guess it’s the ending…

I found the book utterly propulsive as I devoured it in under 24 hours on the beach in September…
A story of a beautiful, young, white woman who- much like a piece of furniture- no one seems to notice if she is there. Alex, our narrator, has an Anna Delvey quality but yet is able to imprint so lightly on the surface of the earth it’s almost as if she doesn’t exist at all…

“Maybe she was the ghost she had always imagined herself to be. Maybe it was a relief.”
