In its good moments, this feels like a contemporary Catcher in The Rye; in its bad moments, it reminded me that I am too old for Catcher in The Rye and all of its offspring books that have tried to create depth out of a narrative of aimless wandering.

Went in knowing this was the It Girl of the summer but that's it. She deserves.

liked the book, lowkey gave me anxiety for her, i typically like reading an unlikable character but parts of this book i wasn't loving because reading them i was just like i do not enjoy this and the character and her situation

also like many people the ending was kinda like wut and thought it felt lazy...... but then i read someone say the ending emphasized her role as a "guest" because after that whole scene you couldn't actually tell if she was there or dead or just having visions like she didn't effect the course of the party, it was better worded by whoever pointed out that detail but once i read that interpretation it really changed my view of the ending and i really liked the ending and found it much more impactful

i also watched a yt video from someone who enjoyed the book and hearing him get more into the books themes and his enjoyment also gave me a greater appreciation of the book

also gave me an intense urge to be swimming like plzzz i just want to be floating in a pool on a gorgeous day i beg

If you thought you were lost and selfish when you were 22, just wait until you meet Alex.

As a summer read, this was enjoyable. The characters aren’t flat.

She was stressing me outtttt
