The epilogue felt a bit directionless. But overall this book was a really interesting read that definitely made me feel the feels. It also felt eerily similar to current events and made me think I might need to start burying guns in my back yard to fight the fascist regime.

I definitely enjoyed this book. Julia Alvarez did a good job of adapting this amazing true story. The movie version (with Salma Hayek and Marc Anthony) is also good.
