I have much in common with Brooke Shields (stage of life and motherhood, not modeling or acting 😉) She is funny, wise and relatable.  Her narration is excellent. Want to watch her documentary and more of her creative projects now.

Part memoir, part honest conversation about women in midlife. She says what a lot of us are feeling. Yes she’s rich and famous; she acknowledges that and the privilege that comes with it. Even so, she has been through a lot in her life and comes across as human. The audiobook, read by the author, is like sitting with an old friend over tea (Brooke, if you’re reading this, friend me!). The ultimate message is: this is your life, you have agency, and you should stand up for what you want (or don’t want).

Loved Brooke's take on not becoming invisible as we age. Her book is a reminder that age should not be a limiting factor for women.

I enjoyed this cause I am in the same chapter in life. I grew up with Brooke Shields and find it interesting how she keeps reinventing herself. Good for her!!!!

I'm not necessarily a fan of Brooke Shields, I'm not even sure that I've ever seen anything that she has acted in, but of course, as a very famous celebrity, I'm familiar with her career. I picked this book based on the subject. I was interested to know what someone about a decade older than me, would have to say about aging, especially someone who early in her career was notable for her youth and beauty.

I found Shields to be level headed and inspiring. She honestly seems like a fairly normal person, given her fame. My big takeaway was even someone like Shields feels the pains of being an older women, especially in our youth obsessed society. However, she also echoed what my older women in my life have to me, that with age, you have a sense of self that is so much stronger than when you are younger. I have to say, I feel this is true with every year that passes. I feel happier and stronger now, that I did in my 20'S and 30'S.

Shields reminds women to embrace every stage in life and live each to its fullest in a way that makes you happy.

Also, there was a small bit of Tom Cruise backstory that is good gossip! Shields keeps it classy though1
