This book is a memoir about Brooke Shields's experience of aging. Overall, I found it interesting and clearly written by an intelligent, thoughtful person, but it didn't resonate with me. What it did well: I learned about Brooke Shields and gained some insight into my relationship with my mother. The author backs up a lot of what she says with studies in addition to her own experience. The number of studies was kind of overwhelming at points. I wonder if the issue for me was that ultimately this book felt like it was written by someone who was really annoyed and frustrated (and for good reason), but as someone who prefers to surround myself with people who are very calm, the feelings of annoyance and frustration pushed me away.

Worked really well as an audiobook. Read by the author, felt more like a chit-chat type podcast rather than a book really. Refreshing in a lot of ways. I like that she’s aware of her fame and privilege. Like her other book I just listened to, I think it could have used a bit of editing down. But I did enjoy the overall message. Uplifting and inspiring as I step into 40.
