Wow.  Read this in one sitting.  A very powerful epistolary novelette between two friends at the start of Hitler and early nazi period.  Two friends torn apart as Martin becomes a Nazi.   The ending very strong and ironic.

This is such an impactful book! While it’s a bit generalized, it’s such a clear descent into antisemitism in Nazi Germany. Through the short correspondences of 2 friend and business partners, you see how easily friends turn against friends. I read this at FCO airport and it was such an out of body experience.
