A rambling, at times very funny book. Shades of Lucky Jim.

I loved this book. Darkly funny and the quality of prose is a delight.

Just finished listening to this on audiobook. I checked this out on Kindle Unlimited after hearing about The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. I figured, hey, this guy won a Pulitzer. Surely this is going to knock my socks off.

UNFORTUNATELY NOT.
Longer review to come, stay tuned.

The movie stayed oddly true to the narrative & tone of the book, surprisingly.

I saw the movie a few years back without realizing it was based on a book. Hot damn, the book is so much better!

This is one of those rare novels where the elegance of the prose stands hand in hand with the characters and plot to create a truly memorable reading experience. Probably one of my top 5 or 6 books of all time. Really like it!

Can't wait to read more from Michael Chabon!

Doesn't really amount to much, but it's a good character well told.

Michael Chabon is an excellent author and this is a story well told. Unfortunately, the women in the book are very flat. If only Chabon had done something to give these women some dimension!
