I love this duet. Collectively rating these two as 5-stars because I think reading them back to back is what did me in. This is a second chance romance that works so well with its counterpart because we’re left in such an angsty place at the end of the first book and a lot of the shit they need to work through came from that.
The first thing that stood out was the contrast between Blake and Farrah’s voices in the first book where they’re in their early twenties, and this book which takes place five years later. Blake and Farrah are in their mid to late twenties now and it shows and I loved that. They took turns being a little obtuse in this book but that’s the shit they needed to work through so as frustrating as they were at times, it turned into a nice love story.

I loved this follow up book! The tension between the two MCs when they finally reunite is *chef’s kiss*. I was happy with how the female lead tried to handle the situation professionally and with a level head. I adored the male lead’s inner monologue. It was great to have the guy meeting with his friends and getting their advice on how to handle things throughout the book. Overall, I was really happy with this book!

I was really excited to revisit Farrah and Blake’s story after finishing the first book. This was a great second chance romance and I appreciate how everything fell into place. I know there are more in the series, but I didn’t necessarily feel a strong pull to some of the other supporting characters so I left off with finishing this book. I might revisit them in the future but still loved the writing!
