We got the HEA we wanted in this second chance (more like third lol) romance

This was book two in the duet, and it was everything we were hoping for after the end of book 1.
This takes place 5 years later when Blake and Farrah meet again for the first time since the left FEA when Blake needs an interior designer for his new apartment in NYC.
Farrah tried to get out of the assignment but Blake was adamant on ensuring he didn't lose this opportunity to win Farrah back after his fuck up.
While Farrah tries her best to keep their relationship professional, Blake works his charm and rekindles the feelings they both never lost for each other. At first, they agreed to keep it to just sex but that didn't last either.
Until Blake went and pushed her away yet again when his insecurities came to the surface again.
Blake wasn't my favorite book boyfriend, I must say. I wanted to give him a good shake for being such an idiot lol He's had trauma and bad blood with his father didn't help with how he processed emotions but still, I feel he could have handled everything better and should have communicated when Farrah asked him to open up.
I'm glad Farrah made him grovel and didn't give in right away both times.
I'm really happy they got their HEA though because Farrah and Blake are perfect for each other and their chemistry is amazing!
I loved the writing, spice and plot. The twist was kind of predictable, tho lol. I also really enjoy the side characters and how close they are.
Looking forward to reading the next one in the series

Gotta love when the MMC doesn't know how to communicate like an adult and the FMC has 0 self worth and forgives the same things over and over

I’m glad I didn’t start reading Ana Huang from the beginning because I wouldn’t have tried her later books which I have really enjoyed. I should give up with these ones but I only have two left to complete her entire career so I might as well but oh my word they’re dull.

oh yeah they will be getting a divorce within the next few years. you have to be joking with that book. and the worst part is that it wasnt even that bad at first????? i was enjoying the beginning half of this book. it was actually entertaining mainly because i love these types of books bc i love to see men suffer. and he was suffering knowing he couldnt have her. one of my fav tropes i just love when men suffer because of a woman. she was definitely giving in too soon for my liking but at least she was rejecting him when it came to a relationship. and then we got to the more than halfway ish mark where this book just became absolutely awful. my main complaint with this book is that there was just tooooooooo much forgiveness. so much forgiveness. and it made me so angry. i dont care call me bitter and petty but what happened to ruining the lives of people who wronged you???? no this pissed me off so badly because what do you mean this woman ruined your life and relationship by being a lying liar and almost made you a FATHER to a child that was not even yours and you just forgive her. yeah no big deal its ok bc you were my childhood bestie! WHAT. literally kill her with a gun??????? what?????? and the father who has been an asshole for his entire life and he goes to one bar opening and they just hang. KILL HIM???????? and it gets even worse what do you MEANNN he “cheated” on you and youre gonna forgive him. WIJDFSHVICJSA????????? STOP?????????? no because absolutely nothing pisses me off more than “cheating” trope where the mc forgives the cheating mc. absolutely nothing. and the fact that all of her friends were telling him hes changed and maybe she could give him a chance like if someone cheated on me my friends would bomb their house. all of her friends except the one who didnt forgive him needed to die. actually every single character in that book needed to die especially the mmc sorry. i cant even like this makes me so unbelievably mad like i would understand if she forgave him after she found out he didnt actually cheat on her but BEFORE??????? they both deserve the messy divorce theyre going to go through. and then. it gets EVEN. WORSE. not only did they have to get through the whole cheating conflict (which btw it took waaaaaaayyyy too long to reveal that he didnt actually do it which was another thing that pissed me off BADLY) but now that that was debunked the mmc has to go through his absolutely pointless “im not good enough for her” phase that makes no sense to the plot and was pulled out of the authors ass. like didnt you give them enough conflict now you have to add this shit PLS STOP. any time i read a book where the mmc breaks up with the fmc “for her own good” i want to buy a gun and shoot myself in the face. the most boring lazy stupid reason for a third act breakup to ever exist. BE CREATIVE. THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE. and it came out of absolutely nowhere too bc how does his ex telling him she lied to him and he never cheated on her translate to him thinking hes not good enough for her? WHERE IS THE CORRELATION???????????? dont tell me its because some random man at the fucking grocery store who you havent spoken to in years told you youre bad. you are a fully grown man lets be fr here. what happened to the “i shouldnt pursue her but im going to anyways because im selfish and i want her so bad” mindset that was going on literally 4 chapters ago. this shit pissed me off so bad. and then him having the audacity to insult her by being angry and vulgar in front of the new man shes dating like DIEEEEEEE i hope you die. i hope he dies a slow and painful death. also what kind of name is blake. idk why it took me this entire review to comment on the fact that his name is fucking blake that alone deserves the death penalty. the groveling was pretty good though i cant lie. love groveling bc once again i love it when men suffer. well. anyways. i guess thats what happens when i review a book after i read it and not 2 months afterwards. oops. would love to be a fly on the wall at their lawyers office when those two get a divorce it would bring me inner peace <3
