Pip really does learn a lot in what I think it would be fair to say is a fairly quiet story. The events, when they take place, are entertaining enough but a lot of the characters are pretty one note - I think to facilitate the Dickens style of storytelling - but I don't regret picking this up at all.
A true masterpiece! It's a must-read for everyone. A tale of hope and redemption, a story that captures all human-behaviors with impeccable clarity.
P.S. Joe and Biddy made me cry!

I’m sorry but I absolutely hated this book. Although the plot itself was brilliant and the twist at the end was masterfully created, the writing itself was mundane and left me incessantly wondering when the end of the chapter would come.
