I was very pleasantly surprised how much I liked this book, especially since Telemachus reappears in the narrative and one of my biggest gripes with this series is how much I hate his characterization. I was dreading a bit to see how Odysseus killing the maids would go down in this series, but I found North’s ultimate portrayal and handling of it to be quite well done, in my opinion. I also liked how despite everything, North managed to portray convincing homophrosyne between Odysseus and Penelope, which gives her a leg up over every other Penelope retelling I’ve seen. The side characters all shine very well in this book, especially Penelope’s women. Overall, I found this book to be a very satisfying conclusion to this series

Interesting exploration of return and redemption. Appreciated the development of Odysseus, but atill bitter sweet given all of Penelope’s losses.

Incredible ending to the series. More of a 4.5 for me - I had a hard time settling into Athena’s narration of the story since I liked Aphrodite’s so much in the previous one. It also took me a while to settle into the more Odysseus-centered plot line as opposed to being focused mostly on Penelope.
I don’t normally enjoy battle-heavy books, but I love how Claire North writes all those scenes. I couldn’t put it down
