Amazing, never would I think i'd love a Western. The main character reminds me of a rough and tumble Teddy Roosevelt, if Teddy traded hunting for digging. I loved this book .

My first dive into Crichton, and I know I want more. A historical fiction glimpse into the bone wars of the American west is such a cool time and is so neat to see some of the early palentologists in America's weird scientific history.

While not strictly historical in many senses (it is fiction after all), I love this peek into the Bone Wars era.

What a fun story! You will like this if you enjoy the Jurassic Park story, dinosaurs or a wild west adventure! Set in the 1870s, this follows a fictional character William Johnson but features several real people like Cope and Marsh who legit were crazed men at the time searching for dino fossils in Native American territory with sketchy treaties. Cope and Marsh's feud became known as the Bone Wars. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a fast paced read and I liked watching the main character grow into a super likeable amd admirable person. It was a wild ride and involves many historical details of things I can't believe actually happened. I definitely recommend! (4.5 stars)
