I told myself I wasn’t gonna read it as a former Christian. And then it went on sale in the Kindle store and I couldn’t say no. I can safely say I do not regret it at all. It is pure taboo but man is it hot. I definitely related to both Tyler and Poppy, as I have been both of them. As the daughter & granddaughter of ministers I felt weird reading Priest, but also freed.

Captivating? Yes. Good? Ehhh. The 1st-person narrative told entirely from the MMCs POV was an interesting take, but his internal monologue got a bit trying & cringy after a while.

Read it for the 'forbidden' smexy times, but don't expect much beyond that.

I really liked how it was written in Tyler's pov which made it more enjoyable since most of the books are usually in the girl's pov so it's nice to see it from a different view. When it comes to the plot, it is not really that special nor did it stick to me yet I still had fun while reading.

I'm trying to say casual things about the book but let's be honest, this was hot as fuck, and Tyler, my gosh the nicknames and his way of thinking... I cannot, this was so good!!

So unique for this genre - but the spicy scenes were oh, so very!

I liked the main characters and enjoyed the author‘s style of writing. However, especially the last few chapters seemed weird and not as good as the rest of the book to me. Nevertheless, this is a special romance story unlike any other I’ve read so far.

I absolutely loved how hot and sexy this book is, and all the taboo elements throughout. I also love how despite how taboo it is, there's some really sweet and tender moments as well. I loved reading about Tyler's struggle between his faith and his feelings for Poppy and seeing him unable to stop himself from falling for her.

And I love how Tyler always gets Poppy's explicit consent before he does anything with her and that he asks several times during whatever they're doing how she's feeling and if she wants to continue, even after the initial consent is given. I love when a book includes consent being given.

I can't recommend this book enough.

I struggled slightly with the religious side of this book, I am an atheist and don't believe in God or a higher power so reading about how strong and rooted these characters beliefs were was admittedly slightly difficult for me. However, it was interesting to allow myself to learn more about the Christian mindset, if it is truly how it is represented in this book, and the reasoning behind their faith. I found the couple frustrating at times but overall I did enjoy the book and its message.
